The Campus Network expands on 7 academic colleges, library, administration buildings, Office of Information Technology and residence areas. It supports all the teaching, research and administration work on campus with totally over 6000 available connection ports. All regional routers of buildings were connected to the backbone through two CISCO 7513 and two CISCO 6509 routers with gigabit in two faces. The student residence network was upgraded and completed by Feb 24, 2001 with the fastest speed among universities and colleges in Taiwan. There are network managers resided in each residence hall responsible for solving network-related problems, and maintaining various servers, including FTP, DNS, Mail, and WWW. The current fee of using residence network is NT$1000 every semester plus summer or winter vacations. And more detailed information will be available on the website http://www.dorm.ccu.edu.tw/.
In order to help user solve computer and campus network problems, consulting services are provided as follows:
In addition to the consulting services, all the faculties, staffs and students can also attend various training courses and conferences to effectively use our sufficient computing and networking resources. Those training courses and ad hoc conferences are offered on a semester basis and detailed information can be obtained from http://www.ccu.edu.tw/center/course/.
The university not only possesses excellent campus network, but also makes efforts in formulating the most convenient and best networking services for users. The current networking services were as follows:
Our campus network has been built up nearly perfect, users can connect to Internet from any labs or offices on campus, or even residence halls. There are also 6 computer labs in Office of Information Technology, Library and Information building, open for both general users and teaching purposes. Their schedules are as follows:
Monday to Friday: 08:00-21:00
Saturday: 08:30 - 12:30
During summer and winter vacation:
Monday to Friday: 9:00 - 17:00

The automation of campus administration application systems had originated early from 1992 and mainly focused on the construction of basic database and fulfilling daily data processing operations in the preliminary stage. Application systems were either outsourced or self-implemented. A more detailed and well-organized long-term plan was formulated later on in 1997 to carry out the task of planning and implementing the automation administration application systems. Its main goal is to accelerate the service and decision-making quality and promote the whole university performance by effectively and efficiently using the application systems through excellent business process reengineering. The current status is as below:
